GIVE FREE STUFF!!
Here’s something we don’t talk about enough in B2B: free stuff actually works.
Not the expensive kind — nobody’s handing out box seats or expensive dinners (well, not for everyone). I’m talking about the small stuff.
A free stock upgrade. Complimentary expedited shipping on a rush order. No charge for that extra proof round they weren’t expecting.
Here’s why it matters:
The big corporate clients? They get dinners. They get premium treatment by default. But the small brands, the actual decision-makers grinding it out with their teams — they notice when you throw in something extra. They remember it.
It’s reciprocity, yeah. But it’s also just respect.
When you show a client you’re willing to give before you’re asked to give, something shifts. It’s not transactional anymore. It becomes a relationship.
And relationships are what keep people coming back.
The cost to you? Minimal. The impact? Disproportionate.
Small gestures. Big returns.
